Motherhood.
Military.
Loss.
Marriage.

I’m Noelle!

A former teacher. A military wife.

A boy mom. A grieving daughter.

A storyteller.

This is my wild tapestry.

Alaska: I’m a Southern California native who fell in love with and now claims the Pacific Northwest as home. I promised myself I’d never move away from the PNW—all that changed the day I met my husband. I promptly packed up my belongings into a u-haul and began a cross-country road trip to start our new life together. We’re making our home coast to coast, wherever the army sends us:  North Carolina—>Oklahoma—>Alaska.

Wife: I told God I’d never marry anyone in the military—oops! Turns out he had better plans. I married the best man I’ve ever met nearly 2 years ago and jumped into the role of military wife much to my surprise and God’s amusement.

Mother: I gave birth to our rainbow baby, Forrest,  this year.  I never imagined myself as a boy mom and now I can’t imagine being anything else. He’s radically, blissfully, and wildly changed our life in all the best ways.

Daughter: I lost my mom— my best friend, my hero, my everything—to breast cancer last year. Grief, much like parenting, lacks a handbook. The words I spill onto these digital pages are the overflow of my heart—the processing, the reminiscing, the mourning, the celebrating—as I navigate becoming a mother while motherless.

"Capturing and navigating the threads that make up this beautiful, messy, and wild tapestry called life."

What once looked like a predictable and planned out life has completely upturned and I now find myself in a brand new chapter of life with an entirely different map to follow.

I find myself needing to document these changes, engraving them in cyber stone, holding them up to the light, and hopefully, in doing so, I can look back and see that these semi-incongruous strands of my story in fact do create this beautiful, wonderful, wild tapestry that is my life.

Thank you for visiting and allowing me to share with you the messy, the mundane, and the meaningful. I’d love to connect with you! You can reach out here, on instagram, or email me at hellothiswildtapestry@outlook.com.
